Hi, I'm Jo!

I'm a Midwest-sprung artist who loves going plein-aire painting. I especially love getting up at the crack of dawn and going out to forest preserves and state parks to go paint with a thermos of coffee. To be clear, I do not paint with the coffee (except for one instance), I bring water for the painting and plenty for myself as well. I also enjoy painting at popular places like the Atlanta Beltline (featured above) so I can be in the hustle and bustle while still feeling like I have a purpose. Sometimes inspiration strikes in the oddest places, such as a traffic jam or while walking past some utility boxes in the tall grass. Wherever I set up my eisel, I'm sure to have a conversation with the world around me.

I also love painting portraits. All people are beautiful, and I love to capture their personality and uniqueness in expressive watercolor portraits.
